Some people love travelling for business where as others would prefer to stay at home with their family. More often than not it is the senior people that will be travelling, executive travel is important for deals to be closed and big decisions to be made. If you are unsure of who to book with or trying to work out the easiest way to go about things then you should try executive travel with the Co-operative travel management team, they have built an outstanding reputation with executives from across the globe. So, once you’ve offloaded all of the arrangements to the Co-op you need to focus on what you can do to make your trip as smooth as possible.

Here are my essential business travel tips:

– Know the baggage limits. If you want to breeze straight through check-in then it is a good idea to ensure that your bag is not overweight. You do not want to have to pay the charges out of your own pocket and then wait to be reimbursed by the finance office at work.

– Have you ever looked out of the window of the plane to see the bags getting loaded? I did when it was raining once and it dawned on me that even though I was dry my bag certainly wasn’t. A great tip is to put a plastic bag at the top of your bag once you have finished packing, this will help it to stay as dry as possible even if it is raining hard.

– Print off all of the booking confirmation and hotel reservation information as soon as you can. You will be busy in the office wrapping everything up before you leave, so make sure that you put it all together in an envelope or a brightly coloured folder. This means that it will stand out and you have much less chance of missing it when you are rushing out the door. Always keep the files on your smart phone where possible because it will mean that you will be able to access the information even if you forget the hard copies

– If you are frequent flyer then you should always try to get an upgrade. Airlines are more likely to offer free upgrades to those that are members of their rewards scheme, so sign up to as many as you can. It’s always good to use the same airline time after time, clocking up the air miles will definitely benefit you in the long run.
